Booking an evening out here, from first message to her knock
One person answers this desk. Hester takes the hotel, the flight and the hour, works out what the roads will actually do that evening, and comes back with a name, a figure and a time. Most replies land within a quarter of an hour.
Four lines, one message

Send the hotel, not the terminal
Half the buildings out here carry a terminal in their name and stand somewhere else entirely, so the hotel name is the useful thing. Add your flight time if you have one.

Name a companion, or describe the night
Pick a face from the hall, or write a sentence instead: a long haul and no energy left, dinner before an early departure. Hester replies with two or three names.

Read the confirmation properly
Back comes the companion, the length, the fee and the time she will arrive, to the minute. Nothing is booked until you answer that message.

One check, then the room number
The name the room is under and the hotel, confirmed once in the chat, then the room number when you have checked in. She goes straight up; nothing is left at reception.

What to say in the first message
The hotel name, the date, a start time you actually mean, how long you want and your flight if there is one. Five things in one message saves a round of questions.
How far ahead to write
A day is comfortable everywhere on this side. Same day is often possible at Hayes and West Drayton, where the Elizabeth line puts two or three of the women half an hour from your door, and harder at Longford or Colnbrook.
Where she meets you
At the hotel, always. Never airside, never in an arrivals hall, never at a gate. She comes to the lobby or straight to the room, whichever you prefer, dressed for the building.
When the flight moves
Write as soon as the board changes rather than waiting to be sure. An hour either way is usually absorbed out here, and a whole evening can often be shifted to the next night.
The fee, and the one thing never asked for
It is handed to her in person when she arrives, the figure from your confirmation and nothing more. Nothing goes on the hotel bill. The ladder is on rates.
Nobody from this desk will ever ask you for a card number, a bank detail or a document. If a message claiming to come from here does, it is not from here.
