About Samanta
Poyle Road is an odd address for a Terminal 5 hotel, because it is technically Colnbrook, it is technically Berkshire, and it is five minutes from the terminal. Samanta rather enjoys explaining this to people. Slim, 174 cm, her dark brown hair long and worn straight, her brown eyes able to carry a conversation on their own for a while. Twenty seven, she dresses with restraint and good fabric: a column dress, a low heel, a camel coat that comes off at the door and goes no further.
She is poised, observant and quietly funny, and she never makes a guest feel like an item on a list. She notices when someone is too tired to want an evening out and rearranges the whole plan without making anything of it. Her English is low and unhurried. She swims, she reads and she photographs aircraft tails, a habit she describes as embarrassing and continues regardless.
The Terminal 5 hotel is really a Poyle Road address, a short hop from the terminal by road with the Colnbrook lanes beginning at the end of the car park. She likes an evening that leaves the building at least once, even if only for the walk down towards the old High Street. Samanta travels out from Mayfair, usually by car, an hour when the motorway cooperates. If your flight leaves before seven in the morning she will tell you honestly that a longer booking beats a short evening. All airport bookings start at three hours with travel counted inside them.

Samanta reads a guest quickly and adjusts without discussion. If you walked off a long haul four hours ago she will not suggest going anywhere; the evening stays in, food arrives, the lights go down and she carries the first hour almost single handed until you catch up. If you have been here a day and are restless, she will take you out into Colnbrook instead, ten minutes on foot from the Poyle Road hotels to a High Street that has been on the road west since the seventeenth century. Either version ends the same way: unhurried, with the kind of conversation that only happens when nobody is trying to impress anybody. She is one of the few companions who will tell you outright that you should sleep, and she means it kindly.
