Tina is small, fast and immediately easy to be around, and she does not do the long polite warm up that some guests brace themselves for. She asks where you flew in from and then wants to know what the airport was like, a better question than it sounds, and it always gets a proper answer. At Cherry Lane the evening is quiet by design: a hotel set among houses, fifteen minutes from the terminals, with nothing outside but a lane and the Elizabeth line a short walk away.
